Downgrading of food shop licensed to Continental Delight Catering Services Pte. Ltd.  (Licence No. SW14145X000), located at 21 Second Chin Bee Road #01-02, Singapore 618780 due to food poisoning incident

              107 individuals were reported to have gastroenteritis symptoms after consuming food prepared by Continental Delight Catering Services Pte. Ltd. on 15 and 16 November 2023. None were hospitalised.

2            A joint investigation by the Ministry of Health and the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) was conducted at the food shop on 20 November 2023 . Several food safety lapses were identified during the inspection, including a damaged hot-holding metal cabinet, which may cause it to be ineffective in maintaining cooked food at a safe temperature, as well as a food sample that failed SFA’s food safety tests.

3            SFA has adjusted the food shop’s food hygiene grade from “A” to “C” with effect from 16 May 2025 to be reviewed in 12 months. The premises will also be kept under surveillance.

4            Food operators are reminded to adhere to good food hygiene and safety processes. Good hygiene practices such as the washing of hands before handling food can greatly reduce the incidence of gastroenteritis when adopted by all key stakeholders, including the industry and public.
