Lifting of suspension of K G Catering Pte. Ltd after meeting required standards

                The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has lifted the suspension of K G Catering Pte. Ltd. located at 171 Kampong Ampat, #06-03, KA Foodlink, Singapore 368330 today.

 

 2             On 8 November 2022, during an inspection of the said premises, non-compliances such as massive infestation of live cockroaches and dead rodents were observed in the food preparation areas. Several lapses related to poor maintenance of the premises were also observed. In the interest of public health, SFA instructed the licensee to rectify the lapses and take necessary measures to improve the food safety practices and cleanliness of its premises.

 

3              K G Catering Pte. Ltd, which was suspended from 9 November 2022, is allowed to resume operations as it has rectified the lapses that were identified leading to its suspension (https://www.sfa.gov.sg/newsroom/food-hygiene-notices/detail/suspension-of-the-food-business-operation-by-k-g-catering-pte-ltd-located-at-171-kampong-ampat-06-03-ka-foodlink-singapore-368330)

 

4              Following the lifting of suspension, SFA will continue to place K G Catering Pte. Ltd. under close surveillance to ensure they adhere to food safety requirements.

 

5              Food safety is a joint responsibility as food can be contaminated anywhere along the food chain. While SFA continues to be vigilant and works to ensure regulatory measures are in place and properly enforced, the industry and consumers must also play their part.

 

6             All food operators should ensure that their premises are clean and well-maintained, and staff are adequately trained on proper food safety management. SFA will take enforcement action against food operators who do not adhere to regulations or comply with food hygiene and food safety requirements. Offenders are liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or to both.
