Recall of Coolibah Herbs Gourmet Salad Mix due to exceeding levels of Bacillus cereus

        SFA has detected Bacillus cereus (B. cereus) in Coolibah Herbs Gourmet Salad Mix at levels exceeding the permissible limits stipulated in Singapore’s Food Regulations.

2       As a precautionary measure, SFA has directed the importer, Freshmart Singapore Pte Ltd, to recall the implicated products. The recall is ongoing.

3      B. cereus is a bacterium normally found in the environment and the intestinal tracts of insects and mammals. B. cereus is a common cause of food poisoning and affected individuals may experience an onset of symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps, and diarrhoea.

4      Consumers who have purchased the implicated product are advised not to consume it. Those who have consumed the implicated product and have concerns about their health should seek medical advice. Consumers may contact their point of purchase for enquiries.
