Recall of Four Seasons Durian’s Mini D24 Durian Mooncake due to exceeding levels of B. cereus

  1. As part of the Singapore Food Agency (SFA)’s regulatory sampling of mooncakes, it has detected Bacillus cereus (B. cereus) in Four Seasons Durian’s Mini D24 Durian Mooncake, at levels exceeding the maximum limits stipulated in Singapore’s Food Regulations.

  2. As a precautionary measure, SFA has directed the manufacturer, Four Seasons Durian Pte Ltd, to recall the implicated products. The recall is ongoing.

  3. B. cereus is a bacterium that is normally found in the environment and in the intestinal tracts of insects and mammals. B. cereus is a common cause of food poisoning and affected individuals may experience an onset of symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps and diarrhoea.

  4. Consumers who have purchased the implicated products should not consume them. Those who have consumed the implicated products and have concerns about their health should seek medical advice. Consumers can contact their point of purchase for enquiries.
