Exporters/Applicants for Export of Fish and Fishery/Aquatic Products to Philippines

Dear Sir/Madam,

NEW REQUIREMENT FOR EXPORT OF FISH AND FISHERY PRODUCTS TO PHILIPPINES

The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has been notified by Philippines’ Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) that a new requirement under their Fisheries Administrative Order (FAO) No. 275 will be introduced for all foreign establishments exporting fish and fishery products to the Philippines.

2            From 1 June 2026, all fishery establishments intending to export fish and fishery products to the Philippines must be formally endorsed by SFA to the Philippine Government for evaluation prior to export. Only officially endorsed establishments will be eligible to export to the Philippines.

3            For establishments which have been successfully endorsed by SFA, BFAR will conduct risk-based audits with effect from December 2026, to verify compliance with Philippine food safety, sanitary and traceability standards.

4            The application process for the Export Health Certificate remains unchanged. If you are keen to export fish and fishery products to Philippines or require further clarification, please submit your feedback via https://csp.sfa.gov.sg/feedback.

Yours faithfully
