Exporters/Applicants for Export Certificates to Mauritius
Dear Sir/Madam,
REVISED EXPORT REQUIREMENTS FOR MAURITIUS
The Ministry of Agro-Industry, Food Security, Blue Economy & Fisheries of Mauritius will be revising its import requirements for seafood products exported to Mauritius with effect from 1 December 2026.
(A) Export Health Certificate Required for Seafood Products
2 Mauritius now mandates that all seafood products must be accompanied by an Export Health Certificate (EHC).
3 The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) issues two types of EHC for food products, depending on their origin.
- For export of locally manufactured products: The manufacturer must appoint a Qualified Person (QP) to oversee the export process and engage an Auditing Organisation to conduct the Export Audit. Please refer to Export Health Certificate application process for the details of the EHC application process.
- For re-export of imported products: The re-exporter must appoint a Person-in-Charge (PIC) to oversee the re-export process. The re-exporter must arrange a one-time onsite inspection by the SFA of the re-exported consignment storage location. Please refer to Export Health Certificate (Re-Export) application process for the details of the EHC (Re-export) application process.
4 Exporters are reminded to indicate the Mauritius import permit number when applying for EHC or EHC (Re-export). In addition, exporters are to ensure compliance to all applicable sanitary, hygiene, and traceability requirements under the import permit conditions, and that the EHCs are applied for and issued prior to export.
(B) Watermarked Format Certificates
5 All export certificates issued by SFA for Mauritius will transit to watermarked format. Exporters with watermark-compatible printers may print certificates at their premises using the Digital Document Reader (DDR) software. Certificates will be mailed to exporters without compatible printers.
6 The application process for all types of export certificates remains unchanged. For more information on GoBusiness submissions, please refer to https://file.go.gov.sg/exportcertuserguide.pdf
7 If you require any clarifications, please submit your enquiries via https://csp.sfa.gov.sg/feedback.
Yours faithfully
