SFA adopts a science-based approach to assess the food safety risks and ensure that food is safe for consumption. Travellers can bring back food products from overseas strictly for their personal consumption, subject to the following rules and limits below.
Meat
The table below shows the types of meat products, the approved sources and limits allowed. Meat products include all forms of food products containing meat.

Fish
The table below shows the types of fish and seafood products, the approved sources and limits allowed.

Travellers can bring in all fruits and vegetables from any country/region based on the limit indicated below.

Eggs
The table below shows the types of eggs, the approved sources and limits allowed. Travellers are not allowed to bring in egg products that are not listed in the table (e.g. free-range and processed eggs).

Processed Food
The table below shows the processed food products and the limit allowed.

- Always check this webpage before deciding to buy any food products to bring back to Singapore. SFA reviews the approved sources and food products from time to time.
- The limit for all processed food is 5kg/5 litres in total per traveller.
- If you wish to bring back more than the limit allowed per traveller, you should apply for an import licence and permit as detailed in the Process for Larger Quantities of Food Detained.
