Suspension of the Food Business Operation by Sidecar Pte. Ltd. located at located at 37 Mactaggart Road, #02-01, Lirea Industrial Building, Singapore 368083

 

                The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has suspended the food business operation of Sidecar Pte. Ltd. (located at located at 37 Mactaggart Road, #02-01, Lirea Industrial Building, Singapore 368083) with effect from 16 February 2023 until further notice.

 

2             On 15 February 2023, during an inspection of the said premises by officers from SFA and the National Parks Board/Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS), manufacturing and production for pet food was found in the implicated premises. The implicated premises is not licenced for pet food production and is not permitted to be used for manufacturing or storage of pet food. The matter is under investigation.  

 

3             In the interest of public health, SFA directed the licensee to rectify the lapses and take necessary measures to improve the food safety practices and the cleanliness of its premises.

 

4             Food safety is a joint responsibility as food can be contaminated anywhere along the food chain. While SFA continues to be vigilant and works to ensure that regulatory measures are in place and properly enforced, the industry and consumers must also play their part.

 

5             All food operators should ensure that their premises are clean and well-maintained, and staff are adequately trained on proper food safety management. SFA will take enforcement action against food operators who do not adhere to regulations or comply with food hygiene and food safety requirements. Offenders are liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or to both.
