Downgrading of Food Caterers “Mum’s Kitchen Catering” Located at 3015 Bedok North Street 5, #02-06, Singapore 486350 and “Cherish Delights” Located at 3015 Bedok North Street 5, #02-08, Singapore 486350 due to Food Poisoning Incidents

The licences of Mum’s Kitchen Catering and Cherish Delights were suspended on 10 and 11 September 2019 respectively, after two separate outbreaks of gastroenteritis illness involving 40 cases who had consumed food prepared on their premises between 31 August 2019 and 4 September 2019. Three cases were hospitalised and have since been discharged, and all have recovered.

The suspensions were subsequently lifted on 9 October 2019 after Mum’s Kitchen Catering and Cherish Delights complied with measures stipulated by SFA during the suspension period.

The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has adjusted the food caterers’ food hygiene grade from “A”  to “C” with effect from 7 January 2020, to be reviewed in 12 months. The premises will also be kept under surveillance.

Food operators are reminded to adhere to good food hygiene and safety processes. Infection prevention practices such as the washing of hands before handling food can greatly reduce the incidence of gastroenteritis when adopted by all key stakeholders, including the industry and public.
