Disruptions in Singapore’s food supply can happen from time to time. However, there are ways for the industry to stay ready and minimise the impact of such disruptions to our food supply – and SFA works with the industry to do just that.

To game-change food security, Singapore needs to increase local production with an ambitious ‘30×30’ goal. With COVID-19 further amplifying this need, SFA launches an “express” grant to jump-start the industry into accelerated mode.

Singaporeans are eating more eggs, and importers are looking at new sources from Ukraine and Spain to feed rising demands. 

To make sure food on our tables is safe, there are Singaporeans who go the distance, as far as to a farm in Thailand's provincial outskirts. Low Yi Lin, accreditation officer at SFA’s Food Regulatory Management division, is one of them.
