Lifting of suspension of Natural Grain Pte Ltd’s food business operations
The Singapore Food Agency (SFA) has lifted the suspension of the food business operations of Natural Grain Pte Ltd, located at 1 Senoko Avenue #04-04, Singapore 758297, on 29 May 2023.
2 On 12 May 2023, during an inspection of the said premises, non-compliances such as severe pest infestation (live cockroaches) and other food safety lapses were observed in the premises. In the interest of public health, SFA suspended Natural Grain Pte Ltd and instructed the licensee to rectify the lapses and take necessary measures to improve the cleanliness of its premises.
3 Natural Grain Pte Ltd, which was suspended from 13 May 2023, is allowed to resume operations as it has rectified the lapses that were identified leading to its suspension. Food handlers who will be involved in food preparation have since re-attended and passed the Food Safety Course Level 1.
4 Food safety is a joint responsibility as food can be contaminated anywhere along the food chain. While SFA continues to be vigilant and works to ensure that regulatory measures are in place and properly enforced, the industry and consumers must also play their part.
5 All food operators should ensure that their premises are clean and well-maintained, and staff are adequately trained on proper food safety management. SFA will take enforcement action against food operators who do not adhere to regulations or comply with food hygiene and food safety requirements. Offenders are liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months or to both.
6 Members of the public who come across poor hygiene practices in food establishments are advised not to patronise them but to report to SFA via the online feedback form (www.sfa.gov.sg/feedback) with details for our follow-up investigations.
