With effect from 1 April 2019, the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) has been restructured to form the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) and the Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS) under National Parks Board (NParks).

You may visit the respective agency websites from 1 Apr 19 onwards.

All food-related services under AVA will be provided by Singapore Food Agency (SFA).

SFA will serve as the single point of contact for public feedback on food-related issues, and strengthen management of foodborne disease outbreaks to protect public health.

SFA will also facilitate more business-friendly regulations with oversight of all food safety policies and consolidation of food laboratory capabilities to deepen competencies in food diagnostics, and research and development in food safety.

All non-food related animal, plant and wildlife management services will be provided by National Parks Board (NParks) / Animal & Veterinary Service (AVS).

  • AVS will be the main touch-point on animal health and animal-related issues for pet owners and businesses, as well as animal welfare groups
  • NParks will be the main touch-point on plant health, CITES and wildlife management services

Refer to Annex A for the detailed list of services provided by SFA, NPARKS and AVS
